Hey Community!


Sophia and Josh here checking in and sharing some exciting news and updates about AIC Move Together.


We can’t believe It’s been almost a full month since our program started! We’ve had the immense pleasure of getting to know so many of our fellow community members in Grooving, partner dancing, connecting, hanging out, sessioning, filming podcasts, and moving together!


We’ve the last of week of Module 2 of our residency at Coal Harbour Community Centre. We’ve officially taken our classes to West End Community Centre, teaching Grooving and Movement Meditation classes! It’s been a pleasure to meet, dance, and share with community members and staff at this centre. Thank you for joining us! We look forward to seeing you all throughout the year.


For those interested in signing up for classes, be sure to sign up online or by calling either WECC (604-257-8333) or CHCC (604-718-8222). We’ve moved to a bi-weekly sign up system so remember to tell your fellow community members to sign up every two weeks for FREE classes and program offerings!

Movement Meditation is a guided improv class designed to awaken the body, mind and spirit. In this class participants will discover a mindful and somatic approach to movement and dance.

Bounce, Rock, Skate

When? May 27, 2023

Where? Coal Harbour Park

323 Jervis St (above the Coal Harbour Community Centre)


Event Description:

A Spring Outdoor Community event inviting all community members, cultures, and artists to connect, showcase and network through music, food, dance and Roller Skates! This event will feature a live DJ with an open dance floor for people to get down and boogie outside. There is a ton of seating at the park but please feel free to bring your own chair or a blanket to lay out in the grass!


Starting in June we'll be offering some new classes!


Dance Fit 1hr

Weekly

Space: Dance Studio


A conditioning and mobility class using dance techniques to strengthen and engage our bodies. Come party and workout all at the same time!


Beginner Breaking Class (1.5hr)

Weekly

Space: Dance Studio

Breaking (sometimes called Breakdance) is an energetic dance style combining funky footwork, floor moves and inversions to drum breaks from Uptempo funk music. Learn fun moves and tricks to impress your friends and family!



We can't wait to see you in class, at weekly dance socials and around the community centres!
