Hey Community!
Josh and Sophia here with another update on the AIC (Artist in Community) Move Together Program. This time we're talking about the wonderful opportunity we had to join in the Coal Harbour celebration of their annual, Rockin' in the Park event.
We had a booth set up amongst some other fun activities for the community such as arts and crafts, bouncy castles, and bbq hot dogs. Yum! At our booth we had music playing and kept the dancing going. It was so nice to introduce ourselves and have a dance with attendees who wanted to listen to our tunes and partake in their own dances!
We also got to share more of ourselves in a more official setting with a slot on the MainStage to present some of the work we do as artists and give people a taste of some of our programs.
During our set time we were warmly welcomed by a crowd of bright and smiling community members of all ages who partook in our small dance lesson. We covered some of the basic steps and grooves that help us connect to the music, a lot of which we cover in our Absolute Beginner Grooving classes!
We were also joined by our very talented colleagues and collaborators, Simran Sachar and Sevrin Emnacen-Boyd who took the stage with us to showcase how these fundamental skills can be put together into full dance rounds. Check some of those rounds below!
